Summer Touches

This week many are on vacation or “staycations.”  August is coming to an end as is summer.  Play.  Read.  Relax.  Enjoy this haiku, Summer Touches.

Change Continues

America continues changing.  Economics and events continue rewriting our country’s history.  Change means revisions.  Non-negotiable becomes negotiable.  Prison becomes pardon.  “None” becomes “the first.”  Two becomes three.

The week began with the peaceful release of two American captives held by the North Koreans.  History was made when—under the Obama Administration—former President Bill Clinton; former Vice President Al Gore; and the State Department run by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, a former First Lady, worked together to gain the release of the two captives who happened to be Asian American women.

The week ended with the country’s first Hispanic and third woman, Sonia Sotomayor, confirmed to serve as the 111th justice on the U.S. Supreme Court.

Change is inevitable.  Positive change is invaluable.
